Next year, a round trip on the Fed Bus would cost $19. The same trip on Greyhound Canada would cost $25.80.

Given the number of riders last year, UW students will pay about $80,000 more to Greyhound Canada than they would to the federation in one year.

Mahesh Bhagani, another UW student, he said he likes that the Fed Bus guarantees him a seat for a specific departure time. Greyhound Canada makes no such promise.

Campuswide, Butalid said students benefit from the Fed Bus. The service brought the federation nearly $50,000 in revenue last year. That money supports student clubs and services.

Greyhound Canada has offered to make the student union the ticket sellers at the university. That would give them an unspecified commission.
