&lt;p&gt;FEDERATION OF STUDENTS BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO CALL REFERENDUM ON BUS PASS&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Non-refundable pass will be put to students in March 2007&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;WATERLOO, ON (January 22) - The Federation of Students Board of Directors&lt;br /&gt;
has committed to call a referendum on the issue of a Universal Bus Pass in&lt;br /&gt;
March, 2007. The unanimous decision was reached in response to clear student&lt;br /&gt;
interest in the issue and the need to more fully prepare the service and&lt;br /&gt;
logistical details necessary to implement a non-refundable bus pass.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Council sends U-Pass referendum to executive</title>

&lt;p&gt;Students won&#039;t be considering a U-Pass referendum question when they go to vote in Feds elections next month. Students&#039; Council sent the issue of a universal bus pass to the executive to consider the possibility of a refundable pass at its meeting Sunday.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Councillors were considering whether to call a referendum on a non-refundable $41.67 fee that would pay for a transit pass.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Canada can learn from Waterloo Region [The Record]</title>

&lt;p&gt;The Record has a an opinion/insight piece from Frank McKenna. In it he talks about how education and entrepreneurialism contribute to the prosperity of Waterloo Region. He also identifies challenges including: not retaining or attracting post-secondary graduates, low exports despite proximity to much of the US population, and a large projected population growth.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Frank McKenna is the former premier of New Brunswick and former Canadian ambassador to the United States and currently deputy chair of the TD Bank Financial Group.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Globe report card grades universities</title>

&lt;p&gt;&lt;i&gt;The Globe and Mail&lt;/i&gt; released its &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.theglobeandmail.com/reportcard&quot;&gt;University Report Card&lt;/a&gt; on Tuesday, giving schools letter grades in different categories based on the responses of more than 32,700 students to over 100 questions.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Having started in 2002 this is the fifth year the newspaper is rating universities based on data from studentawards.com. The report card compares schoold is four different size categories. University of Waterloo is included in the Large( more than 22,000) category, which includes 15 schools.&lt;/p&gt;
